Class Descriptions

Reiki is an ancient energy healing technique that has been in practice for thousands of years. It focuses on channeling a high-vibrational healing energy that exists naturally in the Universe. Receiving Reiki brings balance and relaxation, as well as healing on all levels – physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic. Practitioners use gentle hand placements to transfer this energy to the recipient, helping to align their well-being. It’s a non-invasive approach, making it suitable for anyone seeking healing of any kind.

Dr. Mikao Usui modernized the ancient practice of Reiki from an oral tradition into a written one in the 1920’s. Dr. Usui wrote down the ancient traditional teachings, healing methods, energy symbols, attunement procedures and class formats that are still used by Usui Reiki Masters today.

The “attunement” procedure performed by the Reiki Master in class opens the student’s energy system to receiving the Reiki energy, allowing them to channel it to themselves and others for healing.

*Please note that Reiki practitioners are not doctors so we are not able to diagnose conditions or promise specific results. Reiki is powerfully healing and performs some degree of healing in every case. The degree to which it will heal someone, though, depends on their journey in this lifetime and what their soul is meant to go through; as well as their belief in energy healing and their belief that they can be healed.

Usui Reiki Level 1 (1-Day Class, 6.5 Hours)

Raise your vibration to the first level of Reiki energy and open yourself to the deep and powerful healing that Reiki brings. In this class you’ll become attuned to the Universal healing energy, and you’ll practice giving a Reiki treatment to yourself, other people and animals. You’ll also learn the history of Reiki, how and why it works, intuitive healing methods, how to sense energy imbalances, and guidelines for a successful treatment. I’ll also provide you with a treatment procedure checklist and lots of information to help your practice go smoothly. After this class you will be able to give Reiki to yourself as well as your family, friends and pets.

Usui Reiki Level 2 (1-Day Class, 6.5 Hours)

Deepen your understanding of the Reiki energy, and your relationship with it. You will become attuned to the second level of Reiki healing energy and learn three sacred symbols that help intensify the energy for physical, mental and emotional healing. You will also learn how to give Reiki treatments from a distance – physical distance as well as time distance (healing the past and supporting the future). You’ll learn more about Dr. Usui’s procedures and healing methods. After this class you’ll be able to begin working with the general public if desired, and I’ll provide you with forms and checklists that you can use to build your practice.

Prerequisite: Level 1 Reiki training from an accredited Master Teacher. It’s best to have at least 6 months of continuous self-treatment practice before taking Level 2. You should also be getting treatments for yourself from another practitioner at least once a month. And if you intend to work with the public, you should have at least 6 months of continuous practice with family and friends. But if you have a calling to send distance Reiki before that, such as a sick family member far away, the 6 month period can be waived.

Usui Reiki Level 3 (1-Day Class, 6.5 Hours)

Integrate Reiki into your being and into your health at a much deeper level. The power of the Reiki energy at this level is truly life-changing. You will become attuned to the final level of Usui Reiki, and will receive an additional sacred symbol to help you channel powerful healing energy from the Highest Source. You will also learn meridian line healing, crystal grid layouts for body ailments, and how to release unhealthy ties to this and other lifetimes.

Prerequisite: Level 2 Reiki training from an accredited Usui Master Teacher. You need at least 6 months of continuous self-treatment practice and distance Reiki practice. You should also be getting treatments for yourself from another practitioner at least once a month. You need to be able to draw the Level 2 symbols from memory and know what each one is used for. If your goal is to also treat the general public and/or their animals, you need many hours of practice with that also.

Usui Master Class (1-Day Class, 6.5 Hours)

The final step in Usui Reiki training, you will receive the title of Reiki Master Teacher. You will receive the ability to teach Usui Reiki to others through the sacred Master-Student relationship. You will receive an additional sacred symbol to help you pass attunements to others, as well as Reiki Master energy exercises to empower and harness your energy. After this class you will have the ability to teach all levels of Usui Reiki, in person and online.

If you don’t yet plan to teach, there are other reasons to become a Reiki Master – you can attune family and friends who have health issues so that they can do self-Reiki, you can attune animals to give Reiki, you can re-attune yourself for a high dose of healing energy, you can volunteer at organizations that require you to be a Master, and you can gain a complete knowledge and understanding of the entire Usui Reiki healing system.

Prerequisites: Level 3 Reiki training from an accredited Usui Master Teacher. You need at least 6 months of continuous practice with self-treatment, treating others, and sending distance Reiki. You should also be getting treatments for yourself from another practitioner at least once a month. You need to be able to draw the Level 2 and 3 symbols from memory and know what each one is used for. If your goal is to also treat animals, you need many hours of practice with that also.

Taking on the role of Master Teacher is an important and sacred responsibility. Readiness is different for every student, and includes your understanding of Reiki, your personal relationship with the energy, and your motivation for taking the class. Holy Fire® Reiki

Holy Fire Reiki works with a very high vibration of the Reiki energy, much higher than the vibrations accessed by Dr. Usui. It is very refined and imparts a high level of consciousness.

Holy Fire Reiki heals at the soul level, bypassing the conscious mind, and opens us up to very deep levels of healing on all levels. In Level 3 it consolidates the energies of the Usui symbols into one new symbol and empowers them with a higher level of energy.

The Placements received in class open you to receiving energy directly from the Universe, and allow you to channel it to yourself and others for healing. Master Class students receive Ignitions that allow you to pass the Placements to others.

The Holy Fire level of Reiki was first accessed in 2014 by the director of the International Center for Reiki Training, William Lee Rand. The center holds a registered trademark for the Holy Fire system of teaching. I received my training with Mr. Rand.

Holy Fire® Reiki Level 1 and 2 Class (2-Day Class, 6.5 hours each day. The classes are held at least 4 weeks apart to give you time to practice with the Level 1 energy before moving on to Level 2.)
These classes teach Usui Reiki methods but use the higher vibration Holy Fire energy. They are suitable for current Usui Level 1-3 practitioners, as well as those new to Reiki who feel drawn to begin with the Holy Fire energy rather than the Usui. If you are unsure which path is best for you, please contact me and we’ll talk through it.

Holy Fire® Reiki Level 3 and Master Class (3-Day Class, 6.5 hours each day)
This class is for Holy Fire Level 2 practitioners as well as Usui Level 2, 3 or Masters wishing to increase their energy vibration to the Holy Fire level.

This class teaches the Usui Level 3 Reiki methods using the higher vibration Holy Fire energy. You’ll receive a Placement of the Usui Master symbol, which consolidates the energy of the Level 2 symbols into one. You’ll also learn Meditations and Experiences that you can conduct on yourself and others. The training is intensive and includes lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice time.

For the final step in Holy Fire Reiki training, you’ll receive four Master Ignitions to the Holy Fire symbol which makes very high vibrational healing possible. You’ll then receive the title of Reiki Master Teacher, giving you the ability to teach Holy Fire Reiki to others through the sacred Master-Student relationship. After this class you will have the ability to teach all levels of Holy Fire Reiki, in person and online.

Karuna Reiki®

Karuna is a Sanskrit word meaning “an action that is taken to diminish the suffering of others”. Karuna Reiki is often called “The Reiki of Compassion”. When individuals experience enlightenment, they perceive and understand that all beings are One. Therefore, it is natural to extend compassionate action to everyone without distinction, because we are all One. As we help others and aid them in their healing process, all beings benefit. 

Karuna is the motivating quality of the many enlightened beings who are working to end suffering on Earth. This includes those who are physically present as well as those who are in spirit. Enlightened beings continually send very powerful healing energy and guidance to us. As you develop Karuna in yourself, you learn to help other beings as well as become more receptive to the healings and teachings being sent by enlightened beings. Thus your own healing is greatly deepened and accelerated.

Compassion is needed in our society, and in our world, now more than ever.

Karuna Reiki is a Master Teacher class only. It is offered to current Reiki Masters of any lineage who wish to raise their vibration, access wisdom offered by enlightened beings, and learn techniques to raise their own consciousness and the consciousness of their students. 

The Karuna Reiki system was developed by the International Center for Reiki Training in 1995, and incorporates eight symbols used in several ancient healing practices. I was trained in Holy Fire Karuna Reiki by the center director, William Lee Rand. The center holds a registered trademark for the Karuna Reiki system of teaching.

Holy Fire® Karuna Reiki® Master Class (3-Day Class, 19.5 Hours total)
This 3-day class prepares you to teach Holy Fire Reiki and Holy Fire Karuna Reiki. Students will learn the Holy Fire Master symbol (used in treatments and teaching), eight Karuna practitioner symbols (used in treatments), as well as deeply healing Holy Fire Meditations and Experiences that you will use when you teach. After completing this class you will be able to teach all levels of Holy Fire Reiki as well as Holy Fire Karuna Master Teacher, both in-person and online. 

The training is intensive and includes lecture, discussion, demonstration and practice time. Students will practice giving and receiving Reiki using all nine symbols. We will also practice chanting and toning with the Karuna symbols, learning how to empower the energy of the symbols using sound.

This is an excellent class for current Reiki Master Teachers of all lineages who wish to increase their energy to the Holy Fire level and learn compassionate practices to help raise their vibration and move towards an enlightened consciousness. The exercises learned and practiced in class are deeply healing experiences.

Prerequisites: 6 months of practice as a Reiki Master of any lineage. Draw Holy Fire symbol and eight Karuna symbols from memory by the end of class.

Graceful-Reiki
The studio is home to a fabulous Reikitty named Gracie. She is a natural healer and loves to help with Reiki classes. Sometimes she will send Reiki from across the room, and sometimes she will sit or lay on the table and give it directly. If you’re not a “cat-person” or are allergic to cats, no worries – I have an alternate location where we can hold the class.
