Never Own a Disease

August27When we say things like “I have arthritis” or “I am a diabetic” we are accepting a burden. We become a statistic instead of an individual. We then tend to get put on a treadmill of doctor visits, medications, therapies and surgeries. And through all this we, and those around us, talk about disease instead of health. This sends us further into a downward spiral.

Our bodies have a powerful ability to heal themselves. But we need to support that process with healing thoughts, energy and emotions. We have to believe we can heal, and that we deserve healing.

If you are diagnosed with something, try to use non-labeling positive language. For example instead of saying “I have arthritis in my ankle” try saying “My ankle deserves balance and wholeness” Instead of saying “I am a diabetic” try saying “My body thrives on healthy eating and exercise”.

Think well and be well!
